Sustainability
We’re working with a sustainability consultant to guide material choices, packaging, logistics, and energy use. The goal is net zero, and we’re reviewing every part of the business before launch to set a credible plan rather than a vague promise. We’ll publish what we measure and what changes as we go.
Conscious consumption
We’ll order in low volumes and react to demand. It dents our margins, but it’s the sensible move versus over-ordering just to drive unit cost down. We won’t make decisions purely for profit. If you buy from us, the aim is for you to buy once, buy right, own for longer.
How and where we manufacture
Our original idea was to manufacture in the UK, but we quickly realised this wasn’t a viable option given the breadth of our range. The scale of team required and associated costs would have placed us well above the rest of the market.
We explored local alternatives, but many key components, along with much of the specialist manufacturing capability, are concentrated overseas. As a result, we aligned with the realities of the global supply chain.
Our primary manufacturing partner is based in Asia. We’ve reviewed their ESG policies and accreditations and found them to be satisfactory. Before placing our first production order, we’ll visit the site in person to assess conditions and processes ourselves.
