Our Story
A UK team of outdoorspeople and makers building equipment that performs without excess.
Roots
We are four mates from Shropshire, our obsession with outdoor equipment began in our early twenties. Clocking up hundreds of hard miles in the hills, we quickly developed an eye for the details you feel eight hours into a day out.
THE TURNING POINT
Over the years we’ve had countless brainstorming sessions about how we’d improve existing kit, and even made some of our own.
Then finally, on a drive up to Scotland, it clicked. Let’s design and sell our own kit.
The principle we run on
If we’re going to carry it, it has to earn its place. We didn’t set out to create a generic hiking brand. We set out to build a company that makes high-performance outdoor equipment that cuts weight to make hard miles a little easier.
People and places first
We’re committed to running a business that puts people and the environment above profit. Our Summit Sweep runs quarterly clean-ups across the UK, and Field Notes shares routes, scramble guides, and straight-talk skills.
What we build
Ultralight, reliable essentials designed for multi-day miles in real weather.
How we build
We focus on performance you can feel: cut weight, remove faff, keep the parts that matter. Clear, honest specs so you know exactly what you’re carrying.
How we measure success
We’re not going to be the loudest brand in the room. We’re going to be the most useful. On your back, in your hands, and on your kit list when you’re planning the next adventure. We’ll measure success by the miles people make with our kit and the small, steady improvements we help bring to the places we love.
How we’ll show up
We truly care about the miles, the people who make them, and the places that make them possible. We’ll keep showing up - product by product, event by event - so that exploring stays simple, enjoyable, and accessible.
Shape the kit
Tell us what works and what doesn’t and what you want to see.
Learn and share
Our Field Notes cover routes, skills and straight-talk kit tips. Share yours and we’ll credit you.
Keep us honest
Hold us to our high standards. If we miss, say so.
